Latest Release of Flowmation Significantly Enhances Ease of Use
10th April 2008
Silicon Systems have announced the release of Version 2.15 of Flowmation. This keeps in line with their quarterly release cycle and brings in a host of new features. Neil Dobson, Managing Director of Silicon Systems, explains. "Whilst we are working hard on Version 3, which is due out at the end of June 08, we wanted to bring forward a number of enhancements." "Many of these enhancements are focused on improving usability and we are looking to improve this aspect of Flowmation at every opportunity. It's really important to us that the user experience is as straightforward and simple as possible. Careful design and great feedback from clients are the keys to getting this right." One example of this in the latest release is the project "tabs" feature. In Flowmation you have always been able to create project tabs to store all your project information in. You can now order those tabs so that when you are creating a project you can start with the information that is most important to you and then move through other tabs. It's a relatively minor adjustment but one that does provides a more natural flow when you are entering project information. Another example is the way in which Flowmation now remembers all your searches. Every list in Flowmation can be searched. But if you have searched one of the lists such as the list of projects or the list of companies, and you log out or navigate away, when you come back your last search will now be there ready and waiting for you. When you combine this with the ability to create searches, save them and give them a meaningful name it really does make searching the system for whatever information you require an absolute breeze. As a final example, the actions in the library area have now been stored within a dynamic dropdown. This creates a simpler, easier to navigate library and enhances the overall look and feel. As Neil Dobson concludes, "It's interesting how changes like this can really enhance the user experience. These examples are just some of the many enhancements that have been implemented in the latest release and are now available to our clients for upgrade."
